my city, my suggestions: HOW TO SMOOTH VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

Ludhiana: There is lot of chaos of traffic management in Ludhiana. I request to consider the following points;
•    The job of the policeman should not be only to “challan” the people but to educate them also.
•    It should be a constant feature by using prerecorded loud speaker at vulnerable points, as it is being done in Chandigarh and New Dehli.
•    Usually, at the traffic light crossing, there are five to six rows of vehicles where as the capacity of the road is  to accommodate only three rows. Moreover the driver who is to turn towards right stands on the extreme left and then creates hurdle in traffic flow by making a turn towards right. The drivers should be constantly taught about it and “challaned” not obeying it.
•    At the railway crossing, again there are more than the required rows and two wheelers try to come from the opposite side. There should be a police man to guide the people.
