Multistorey parking coming up near Dharamsala bus stand

Dharamsala, November 28, 2023: A multistorey parking near Dharamshala interstate bus stand is currently under construction as part of the Smart City Project. 

The Municipal Corporation Commissioner and MD Dharamshala Smart City Project, Anurag Chandra Sharma, inspected the site on Tuesday and said this project will complete very soon. 

Sharma said that it will accommodate 302 cars and 125 two-wheelers. "The parking facility, costing approximately Rs 20 crore, aims to address the lack of proper parking arrangements in the city, which often leads to traffic congestion and inconvenience for locals and tourists alike”, said Anurag.

Anurag Chandra Sharma said that being a world famous tourist destination, apart from local vehicles, a large number of tourist vehicles also come to Dharamshala every day and due to lack of proper parking arrangements near the bus stand, people generally park their vehicles at unauthorized places inviting traffic jams in the city almost every day. 

Commissioner Municipal Corporation said that this parking being built under the Smart City Project near Dharamshala Bus Stand will provide relief from all such problems and will also save people from unnecessary jams.  

While taking stock of the construction work, he asked the concerned officials to pay special emphasis on safety and quality of work during construction.  He directed to take the work forward at a fast pace and complete it in time bound manner.
