MP Indu Goswami demanded Vande Bharat train stoppage at Pathankot

Dharamsala, December 12, 2023: While speaking in the Rajya Sabha on Friday, Himachal MP Indu Goswami urged the Railway Minister regarding the stoppage of Vande Bharat train at Pathankot Cantt railway station.  

She said that most of the devotees who travel  in this modern train running from Delhi to Katra also want to have darshan of the Goddess in Jawala Ji, Chamunda, Kangra, Chintpurni, Bagulamukhi and Raghunath temples of Chamba located in Kangra and Chamba of Himachal for which it is mandatory for these devotees to disembark at Pathankot. 

Goswami said that Pathankot Cantt station is the only broad gauge railway station for the public of most of the areas of Kangra, Chamba, Hamirpur and Mandi districts of Himachal. 

She also said that if the Railway Minister approves a mere 2-minute stoppage of the Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat train at Pathankot Cantt, then apart from the devotees from all over India, the people of Himachal will also be benefited.
