MP Arora’s efforts bring relief to house tax & property tax payers 

Ludhiana, May 15, 2025: Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora has said the Department of Local Government, Punjab has introduced one time settlement scheme on unpaid/partially paid property tax to give relief to the public.

He was addressing a press conference here on Thursday. Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur was also present on the occasion.

Arora said the Department of Local Government, Punjab has issued a notification in this regard. As per the notification, as a one time settlement scheme for people, on unpaid/partially paid property tax, who failed to deposit their house tax or property tax levied under the Acts ibid as the case may be, due till March 31, 2025, the relief is given.

Briefing further, he said if the whole principal amount is paid in lump sum till July 31, 2025, all the penalty and interest levied on the said amount will be waived off till this period. However, if the above dues are paid, after July 31, 2025 but before October 31, 2025, then waiver on all the penalty and interest levied on the said amount shall be fifty percent along with principal amount.  After expiry of the said period, all the penalty and the interest on the due amount will be charged as levied under Acts ibid.

Arora said he had requested the party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Local Bodies Minister Dr Ravjot Singh to provide relief to people. He thanked all of them for acceding to his request. 

He appealed to people to avail this OTS Scheme.
