MP Arora: 2 Oscars, much awaited recognition of Indian Cinema

Ludhiana, March 13, 2023: AAP MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora has given a very enthused and warm reaction over India creating history by winning two Oscars.

In statement here today, he added he being an Indian feels proud that Song Naatu Naatu from film RRR has won “Best Original Song Award” and The Elephant Whisperers bagged “Best Documentary Short Film Award”. 

“These awards are a great honour for the Indian talent”, he remarked. He said it is a well-deserved win for 'The Elephant Whisperers' at 95th Academy Awards and congratulated to the talented team for creating a powerful documentary that highlights the critical need for conservation efforts and the special bond between humans and animals.

Arora also extended congratulations to the team of RRR Movie for winning the Academy Award and termed it a “proud moment” for India. “This is a huge win for Indian music and cinema”, said Arora.

“This is the time to celebrate for every Indian”, he remarked.

Arora also recalled the names of Indians who won the Oscars in the past. These names are as under: Bhanu Athaiya- Best Costume Design (1983); Satyajit Ray- Honorary Award (1992); Resul Pookutty- Best Sound Mixing (2009); Gulzar-Best Original Song (2009); and A R Rahman- Best Original Score and Best Original Song (2009).
