Mount Carmelites celebrated 38th Annual Day-cum- Founders Day 

Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh, celebrated its 38th Founders’ Week-cum-Annual Day and Annual Function 2025 with grandeur and heartfelt thanksgiving at the Tagore Theatre on 2nd and 3rd December.

Chandigarh December 5, 2025: Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh, celebrated its 38th Founders’ Week-cum-Annual Day and Annual Function 2025 with grandeur and heartfelt thanksgiving at the Tagore Theatre on 2nd and 3rd December. Organised under the visionary leadership of the Founders and Directors, Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel and Dr. Annie Charles Samuel, alongwith the guidance of Principal Dr. Parveena John Singh, the celebrations reflected the school’s ethos of gratitude, excellence, values and holistic development. The occasion held added significance as it coincided with the birthday of Founder and Director, Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel.

The Annual Function held on 2nd December, titled “A Symphony of Gratitude -A Celebration of Blessing Called Life,” was graced by Harpreet Kaur Babla, Mayor of Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest, and Colonel Deepak De, Sena Medal, as the Guest of Honour, accompanied by Monika De.

The morning session of 3rd December was dedicated to the young Carmelites who celebrated with innocence and joy under the theme “A Symphony of Gratitude – A Celebration of Blessing Called Life.” The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest Dr. Gurvinder Pal Thami, Director Principal, GMCH-32, and Guest of Honour Surabhi Prashar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, DLSA Mohali.

The evening session was graced by Chief Guest Amit Kumar, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, and Guest of Honour Col. Vivek Chaudhry, Sena Medal (Retd.). The programme unfolded with devotional and cultural presentations that expressed gratitude towards the Almighty, parents, mentors, and the nation. Students presented mesmerising performances ranging from Garba and Rajasthani folk to Bengal’s cultural grace, demonstrating creativity, poise, and artistic depth. The audience responded with admiration and appreciation for each thoughtfully curated presentation. The celebration concluded with a powerful grand finale and the National Anthem.

Accolades were bestowed upon Scholastic and Co-scholastic achievers. 44 students were awarded the Best All-round Students’ trophies for the session 2024-25. 97 students of classes VI to XII were awarded for Excellence in Academics for the session 2024-25.

The Shining Star Trophies for outstanding performances in various fields as mentioned, were awarded to Kiaan Rai of I-B - Oratory , Navnidh Singh Kalra of III-B, Harnidh Singh Kalra of VI-D & Harsheen Kaur of X-D-Dramatics, S. Sabareesh Iyer of II-A, Pratishtha Singh of IV-C & Veda Mahajan of VIII-A – Fine Arts, Viraaj Arora of I-A, Nikunj Arora of VI-C, Lavya of VII-A, Vania Sandhu of VII-D & Ikjot Singh of XI-A – Sports, Srija Malik of III-A, Rapunzel of VII-C & Esha Singh of IX-B – Dance, Vedanshi Anand of III-B, Tarsh of IV-C & Shavik Bragta of XI-C – Literary Activities, Alwin K. Vincent of III-A, Myra Bhatt of VII-B & Kritarth Kumar Chandrachur of IX-F – Music & Vimarsh Kapoor of VII-D & Shavik Bragta of XI-C – I.T.

Rolling Trophies for the Most Disciplined Class, Best Dressed Class & the Best Kept Class from the Preparatory Wing (Classes Nursery to II) were bagged by class L.K.G-B, Class II-A and Class Nursery-A respectively. Rolling Trophies for the Most Disciplined Class, Best Dressed Class & the Best Kept Class from the Primary Wing (Classes III to V) were bagged by class V-B, class V-C and class IV-C respectively. Rolling Trophies for the Most Disciplined Class, Best Dressed Class & the Best Kept Class from the Middle Wing (Classes VI to VIII) were bagged by class VI-A, class VII-D & class VIII-E respectively. Rolling Trophies for the Most Disciplined Class, Best Dressed Class & the Best Kept Class from the Senior Wing (Classes IX to XII) were bagged by class XII-BC class XI-D and class XII-A respectively.

Jonathan Ivan Charles Rolling Trophy for the best student of the School (Juniors) in cultural activities was bagged by Srija Malik of Class III-A. Jefferson Samuel Charles Rolling Trophy for the best student of the school (Seniors) in cultural activities was bagged by Shavik Bragta of Class XI-C. Mrs. Poonam Bhatt Rolling trophy for the Best All-round student of the School was also bagged by Shavik Bragta of class XI-C.

The Rolling trophy for the Best House in Athletics for the year were awarded to Keats House. The Rolling trophy for the Best House on Duty for the year was awarded to Milton House Mrs. & Rev. Samuel John Memorial Rolling trophy for the Best House of the year was awarded to Milton House. Mrs. Surinder Bala memorial Rolling trophy for the Most Active Club of the year was bagged by Music Club. Dr. Annie Charles Samuel & Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel Rolling Trophy for the highest aggregate marks scored by the student of the School in the Class XII CBSE Examinations conducted in March 2025 was bagged by Loveleen Kaur, who scored 95.4% marks. 52 students were awarded for scoring 90% and above marks in the CBSE Board Examiantion-2025. The staff members who served the Institution for more than 15 years, 20 years, 25 years and 30 years were also honoured on this occasion.

The Founders and Directors expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, parents, teachers and students, reiterating that gratitude, integrity, and service form the foundation of true education.

The Principal, Dr. Parveena John Singh lauded the relentless efforts of all stakeholders in bringing the event to fruition and highlighted the myriad opportunities Mount Carmel School provides to its students. The 38th Annual-cum-Founders Day was not merely a celebration; it was a vivid tapestry of learning, culture, and unity, leaving an indelible mark on everyone present.
