MLA Sanjay Talwar, senior officials visit Samrala Chowk 

Ludhiana: MLA Ludhiana (East) Mr Sanjay Talwar along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Jagraon) Mrs Neeru Katyal Gupta on Thursday, held a on-site discussions with officials at Samrala Chowk Junction to solve the traffic issue here.

Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Sandeep Singh Garha, ACP Traffic Gurdev Singh, XEN Ludhiana Smart City Ltd Raman Kaushal, Project Directors NHAI Varinder Singh (Ambala), Parshant Dubey (Ludhiana), Pardeep Attri (Chandigarh) and Advisory Member Road Safety Committee Rahul Verma were also present.

Being a major junction, Traffic congestion remain a major issue at the chowk which joins Jalandhar-Chandigarh Ludhiana Bypass, Jalandhar Delhi Ludhiana Bypass besides exit and entrance from city to the highway.

During the meeting, officials discussed issues including land acquisition, entry-exit to bypass road and widening of service lanes.

MLA Sanjay Talwar asked officials to see the feasibility to give access from Transport Nagar to direct bypass bridge so that heavy vehicles won’t have to enter the city which led to traffic jam. He also asked to give slipway road from Transport Nagar to link road which is going to the city.
