MLA Sangowal administers oath of office to 260 newly elected Zila Parishad and Panchayati Samiti members

Ludhiana, February 27, 2026: MLA Jiwan Singh Sangowal on Friday urged 260 newly elected members of Zila Parishad and 12 Panchayati Samitis of district to work hand in hand with the Punjab government to ensure comprehensive development of villages, while also fostering communal harmony, peace, and brotherhood.
After administration oath to the newly elected members of the Zila Parishad and 12 Panchayati Samitis at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan, Sangowal emphasized their responsibility to promote rural prosperity, fulfill public aspirations, and immediately begin work to benefit residents.
Sangowal pledged his full support for all-around village development and noted that the state government's high-growth initiatives would succeed only with active contributions from local representatives. He praised the government for fulfilling most election promises, including major reforms in education and health sectors—such as establishing state-of-the-art infrastructure in government schools and hospitals for quality service delivery. He also mentioned the Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan program to promote sports among youth, and the transparent recruitment process that has provided government jobs to over 63,000 young people since AAP formed the government.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Dr. Narinder Singh Dhaliwal also addressed the gathering, encouraging the new members to dedicate themselves to the holistic development of villages.
