MLA Bagga, MC Chief Dr Gupta hold meeting to review monsoon preparedness, expedite devp works

Ludhiana, June 11, 2026: In a bid to expedite development works and ensure monsoon preparedness, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Dr Neeru Katyal Gupta conducted a review meeting with concerned officials of the civic body at MC Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar on Thursday. 
Strict directions were issued to the officials to expedite the ongoing works be it laying of sewer/water supply lines, reconstruction of roads etc and complete the same as soon as possible. 
Further, the officials have also been directed to ensure proper functioning of tubewells so that residents should not face shortage of potable water supply. 
The officials of MC's B&R branch and O&M cell have also been directed to work in coordination with each other, so that the projects to install sewer/water supply lines and reconstruct roads should not get delayed. 
Joint Commissioner Vineet Kumar, Joint Commissioner Tapan Bhanot, Zonal Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon, SE Ekjot Singh, SE Ranjit Singh, MTP Vijay Kumar among other officials of B&R branch, O&M cell, building branch etc were present in the meeting.
MLA Bagga and MC Commissioner Dr Gupta further directed the officials to ensure proper working of sewer treatment plants (STP) of the civic body. MC Commissioner Dr Gupta stated that extensive projects are going on to clean the sewer lines across the city and the officials have been directed to complete the work within the stipulated time period. 
The work for desilting of Buddha Dariya is also going on at pace. The officials have been directed to complete the same before monsoon hits the city. The concerned officials have also been directed to make required arrangements in advance to avoid water logging in low lying areas especially those in the vicinity of the Buddha Dariya. 
MLA Bagga stated that working under the leadership of Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann, no stone is being left unturned to ensure sustainable development. He further stated that ongoing projects are being monitored regularly and no laxity would be tolerated at the ground level especially in terms of quality of the works.
