Mission Fateh: BDPOs should ensure overall development of their respective blocks: DC

Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Sharma today urged all the Block Development & Panchayat Officers (BDPOs) to carry out overall development in their respective blocks. He said that all flagship schemes of Punjab government should be promoted and maximum employment should be generated through MGNREGA.
While chairing a review meeting in this regard at Bachat Bhawan, here today, the Deputy Commissioner stated that a BDPO is responsible for carrying out overall development of their respective blocks. He said that all development works in rural areas are carried out on behalf of the government by BDPOs and that is why, they should work wholeheartedly and in a transparent manner.
He urged the BDPOs to generate maximum employment through MGNREGA as it would benefit a large number of persons. He also directed them to promote all flagship schemes of the Punjab government in a transparent manner.
Under the Mission Fateh of the Punjab government, the BDPOs were urged to generate maximum awareness about ways to save ourselves from COVID 19 in rural areas of the district. He said that as they deal directly with the people living in rural areas, they should ensure that Mission Fateh is successful in rural areas of Ludhiana. He also assured them that all vacant posts would be filled on priority basis.
The meeting was also attended by ADC (D) Mrs Amrit Singh, DDPO Mr Peeyush Chander, DSSO Mrs Inderpreet Kaur, besides several others.
