Mission Fateh: 14035 samples for Covid-19 taken in Ludhiana district

Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 7133 active patients in the district at present.

He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 540 patients (461 new patients from district Ludhiana and 79 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours.

He further said that till date, a total of 1284279 samples have been taken, out of which a report of 1283815 samples have been received, of which 1191176 samples were found negative while reports of 464 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 81986, while 10653 patients belong to other districts/states.

He said that unfortunately, 26 patients lost their lives today (19 from district Ludhiana, 2 from Moga while one each from districts Fatehgarh Sahib, Bathinda, Fazilka, Faridkot and state West Bengal). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 1908 people from Ludhiana and 943 from other districts.

He said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 14035 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere all the safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently of the Punjab government to not only save themselves but keeping everyone around safe.
