Mental Health Nursing Department, College of Nursing, CMC&H celebrates World Mental Health Day

Ludhiana, October 11, 2019: Mental Health Nursing Department, College of Nursing, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana celebrated World Mental Health Day on the theme “Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention ” in Psychiatry O.P.D., CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana.
The program started with an invocation song and word of God. The theme was unfolded by Dr.Usha Singh H.O.D Mental Health Nursing Department, College of Nursing, who spoke about promotion of mental health & prevention of suicide, emphasized risk factors and prevention of suicide.
Dr.William Bhatti-Director CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest for the occasion, he spoke about the issues arising due to use of gadgets and recognize the importance of family.
Dr.Mamta Singla, Head of Psychiatry Department, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana expressed her views on importance of Family relations and availability of mental health care in CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana. An educative role play was also enacted by nursing students on the theme.
The Poster Exhibition was inaugurated by Dr.William Bhatti-Director.
The winners of poster making competition were 1st –Ronald Rajan, 2nd –Tanya Parsad, 3rd – Anisha Anna Anil, BSc(N) 3rd year students.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Vivian Dixon Samuel, MSc(N) 2nd year student. The program activities were highly appreciated by Dr.William Bhatti-Director.
The patients visiting Psychiatry OPD and their relatives attended the program & actively participated in all the activities.
