Mehak of Gagret Una Tops All Streams in HP Board Class 12 Exams with 97.2% marks
Mehak, daughter of Nasib Kumar and a student of St. D.R. Public Senior Secondary School, Gagret (Village Marwari, Tehsil Ghanari, District Una), has emerged as the overall state topper in the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) Class 12 examinations across all streams — Arts, Science, and Commerce. She secured an impressive 486 out of 500 marks, achieving a stellar 97.2%.

Dharamshala, May 17, 2025: Mehak, daughter of Nasib Kumar and a student of St. D.R. Public Senior Secondary School, Gagret (Village Marwari, Tehsil Ghanari, District Una), has emerged as the overall state topper in the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) Class 12 examinations across all streams — Arts, Science, and Commerce. She secured an impressive 486 out of 500 marks, achieving a stellar 97.2%.
Three students — Khushi, daughter of Suresh Singh from Dhauladhar Public Senior Secondary School, Sham Nagar (Dharamshala); Jahnavi Thakur, daughter of Yashwant Singh from Bharti Vidyapeeth Public Senior Secondary School, Baijnath; and Ankita, daughter of Kushal Kumar from Government Senior Secondary School, Rait Kangra — jointly secured the second position with 483 marks.
HPBOSE Chairman and Deputy Commissioner of Kangra, Hemraj Bairwa, announced the results during a press conference. This year’s Class 12 results showed significant improvement compared to last year. In 2024, the pass percentage stood at 73.76%. This year, it rose by nearly 10%, reaching 83.16%.
A total of 86,373 students appeared for the examinations this year. Of these, 71,591 students passed, 5,847 were placed in the compartment category, and 8,581 students failed.
Girls outshone boys yet again. Of the 75 students in the Top-10 merit list, 61 are girls, while only 14 boys made it to the list.
The examinations were conducted from March 4 to March 29 at 2,300 centers across the state.
