Mahendragarh, November 14, 2025: Department of Journalism, Central University of Haryana, Mahendragarh organized a seminar on “Role of Media in Nation Building” on the occasion of National Press Day.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Pawan Sharma stressed that journalism is a field of verification and must uphold 'ethics' and 'responsibility'. He highlighted the need to preserve history and stay alert in the age of AI-driven narrative manipulation.
Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director, HIRD Nilokheri, shared that India is one nation rooted in shared culture and beliefs. He said the media must act as the 'voice of the people' and focus not only on questions but also on 'solutions'. Dr. Chauhan emphasized harmony among all religions and urged media students to promote the vision of India as a developed nation and Vishva Guru by 2047.
Azad Duhan, AIR Hisar, highlighted the importance of good character for credibility in journalism. Pawan Kumar, Head, AIR Hisar, emphasized humanity in journalism and encouraged students to follow AIR’s 8:45 PM news for updates.
Prof. Ashok Kumar concluded the event by underlining the need for solution-based journalism. The seminar was convened by Dr. Amita, HoD DJMC.
