Dr. Seema Rathi, an Associate Professor in the Department of Commerce at MDU, has been awarded a research grant of Rs. 18 lakh under the Haryana State Research Fund (HSRF). The Haryana State Higher Education Council approved her research proposal and sanctioned the grant for a period of two years.

Rohtak, July 17, 2026: Dr. Seema Rathi, an Associate Professor in the Department of Commerce at MDU, has been awarded a research grant of Rs. 18 lakh under the Haryana State Research Fund (HSRF). The Haryana State Higher Education Council approved her research proposal and sanctioned the grant for a period of two years.

Dr. Seema’s research focuses on issues related to livestock management in Haryana and their impact on the economic, social, and health status of the rural population. The study will analyze the effects of animal husbandry on the livelihoods, economic conditions, social changes, and health of families engaged in this sector in rural areas. Dr. Jitender Kumar, an Assistant Professor at MDU’s IMSAR, is participating in this project as a co-investigator.

Congratulating Dr. Seema and her team on this achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia stated that the university consistently encourages research that is beneficial to society. He remarked that this project would play a significant role in understanding the real-world challenges of rural Haryana and providing a robust foundation for policies related to animal husbandry and rural development.
