MDU’s Green Message on Biodiversity Day; Vice-Chancellor Presents Jade Plant to Governor-Chancellor 

On the occasion of World Biodiversity Day, Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU)—further reinforcing its commitment to environmental conservation and a green campus—presented a Jade (Crassula ovata) plant to the Governor and Chancellor, Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh, and the State's First Lady, Mitra Ghosh.

Rohtak, May 23, 2026: On the occasion of World Biodiversity Day, Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU)—further reinforcing its commitment to environmental conservation and a green campus—presented a Jade (Crassula ovata) plant to the Governor and Chancellor, Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh, and the State's First Lady, Mitra Ghosh. 

Presenting the Jade plant on behalf of the entire university fraternity, MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia reiterated the university's unwavering commitment to environmental conservation and its 'Go Green' campaign. 

Terming biodiversity conservation as the need of the hour, Chancellor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh emphasized the importance of undertaking extensive tree-plantation drives and transforming the mission to save the environment into a mass movement. He stated that MDU's 'Go Green' mission must effectively reach out to society to ensure a safe and clean environment for future generations. 

Present on this occasion were Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal, Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. A.S. Mann, Dean CDC Prof. Rajesh Punia, and Director of Public Relations, Sunit Mukherjee. Director PR Sunit Mukherjee apprised the Chancellor of the university's various environmental initiatives and green campaigns.
