MDU Bids Emotional Farewell to 10 Retiring Employees; VC Prof. Poonia Calls Retirement a New Beginning

Rohtak, August 31, 2026: Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) community on Monday organised a farewell ceremony for 10 employees who retired from service, honouring their long-standing contribution to the university.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Poonia said the dedication, sincerity and hard work of teachers and employees play a crucial role in the growth of any educational institution. “Retirement is not the end of service, but the beginning of a new phase of life,” he said, adding that the employees’ contributions would always be remembered with respect.
Those who retired included Dean Academic Affairs and Senior Professor Prof. A.S. Mann, Deputy Registrar Usha Rani, Superintendents Jai Devi and Jaibag, Assistant Rajendra Kumar, Technical Assistant Babu Lal, Head Binder Kamlesh Kumar, Clerks Gurinder Singh and Raj Bahadur, and Driver Samunder Singh.
Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal said the retiring employees had discharged their responsibilities with sincerity and played an important role in strengthening the university’s functioning.
Senior university officials, teachers and employees shared memories of their association with the retirees and wished them a healthy, happy and fulfilling post-retirement life.
Dean CDC Prof. Rajesh Poonia, Proctor Prof. Randeep Rana, DSW Prof. Sapna Garg, CDOE Director Prof. Rajesh Dhankhar, Librarian Dr Satish Malik, HoD Law Prof. Sonu, Finance Officer Mukesh Bhatt, Director Public Relations Sunit Mukherjee, and VC Office Superintendent Khairati Lal were among those present. Family members of the retiring employees also attended the farewell ceremony.
