MCL Launches CityNeeds Daan Utsav 4.0 to promote RRR
Municipal Corporation Ludhiana in association with CityNeeds and powered by Act Humane, announced its annual Daan Utsav 4.0 in Circuit House today that will be conducted from 2nd to 8th October.

Ludhiana, September 29, 2025: Municipal Corporation Ludhiana in association with CityNeeds and powered by Act Humane, announced its annual Daan Utsav 4.0 in Circuit House today that will be conducted from 2nd to 8th October.
On this occasion, Jasdev Singh Sekhon, Assistant Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana stated that the event is being held undr the guidance of Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal. During this event, we collect both used and new materials from citizens through institutions, industries, and clubs. The collected items, which include clothes, books, shoes, electronics, bedding, grocery items, and more, are then segregated and made available to matching NGOs. The collected materials will be distributed in slums through RRR centres and NGOs. This campaign is in line with the RRR model and Mission Life Program of the Government of India. He specified that different NGOs have given their requirements that they will try to fulfil with material received during CityNeeds Daan Utsav 4.0. The e-waste collected during the campaign will be given to recycling companies and revenue generated will be donated to NGOs by these companies.
More than 40 Schools and Colleges, Clubs, Industry organizations etc. are also participating in CityNeeds Daan Utsaav and 30+ Collection Centres are established across the city. We are also conducting Daan Utsav at Amritsar in association with District Administration, Amritsar, at Jalandhar in association with Lovely Professional University at Mohali, in association with Quest Group of Institutions informed Maneet Dewan, Founder, CityNeeds. CityNeeds is an online platform list around 80 NGOs of Ludhiana, showcase their projects and requirements are connect them with donors and volunteers interested in their project. Citizens can donate between 2nd to 8th October at these Collection Centres.
Institutions have the most important role in mobilising youth in large numbers who further sensitize their families to donate the usable material. Students of institutions will bring the segregated, packed and labelled material to our Indoor Stadium, Pakhowal Road from 9th to 18th October. Citizens and students can also get e-certificate issued by Yuwaah by UNICEF, Meri Life by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India by participating in this event.
The material collected will be segregated distribution ceremony will be organized on 29th October 2024, informed Harleen Kaur of Act Humane who is the official NGO partner of this event. Act Humane is a leading NGO in Punjab with a special focus on welfare and capacity building is people with disabilities. They have helped 1000+ people to obtain their UDID cards and monthly pension.
