Manipal Hospital, Yeshwanthpur appoints Dr. Pradeep Kumar D, a renowned Interventional Cardiologist

Bangalore, June 28, 2023: Manipal Hospital, Yeshwanthpur, has appointed a renowned Cardiologist, Dr. Pradeep Kumar D, as a senior consultant in Interventional Cardiology. With his extensive expertise in clinical and preventive cardiology, Dr. Pradeep brings a wealth of knowledge to the hospital. He has actively led numerous cases involving coronary interventions, such as primary angioplasties, complex coronary interventions, Rot ablation, IVL, and imaging-guided angioplasties. His vast experience in echocardiography, including transthoracic, transoesophageal, and paediatric procedures helped him in accurate diagnoses to perform complex surgeries. Furthermore, Dr. Pradeep has demonstrated exceptional skill and caution in performing complex cases of Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), as well as Coarctation stenting.

Prior to joining Manipal Hospitals, Dr. Pradeep Kumar D worked at some renowned hospitals such as Fortis, Cunningham Road and Aster CMI Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Pradeep served as a consultant at Manipal Hospital from 2007 to 2010. During his tenure in these hospitals, he acquired extensive practical knowledge and expertise in the field of paediatric cardiac interventions, including neonatal procedures, such as Balloon Atrioseptostomy (BAS), valvotomies, and PDA stenting.

Furthermore, he gained valuable experience in structural heart interventions, including Percutaneous Transluminal Mitral Commissurotomy (PTMC), Bicuspid Aortic Valve (BAV), Balloon Pulmonary Valvotomy (BPV), Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR), and Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR). In addition to these specialities, Dr. Pradeep has vast experience in placing Pacemakers and Automatic Implantable Cardioverter defibrillators (AICD) to treat patients with heart failure.

Dr. Pradeep obtained his MBBS degree from Bangalore Medical College in 1998. Following that, he pursued his MD in Paediatrics at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) from 1999 to 2001. He then worked at SGPGI, Lucknow, before undertaking DM Cardiology at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Science and Technology from 2004 to 2006. In addition, he successfully completed a fellowship in cardiovascular angiography and interventions and is a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI, USA).
