India achieved Independence from the British rule in 1947 after the sacrifices of our revolutionaries who laid down their lives by kissing the gallows of death for India’s Independence. In the Pre- Independence period Indian Territory started from Khyber Pass to KanyaKumari and similarly from Khyber Pass to Burma since 1937. East Pakistan and West Pakistan two countries had their origin in 1947 whereas in 1971 East Pakistan became Bangladesh. India after achieving Independence focused on agriculture sector focusing on food stuff especially wheat. In the Pre-Independence period Punjab was the leading Agriculture State due to planned irrigation canal system and Punjab had the credit of bumper wheat yield to feed the entire Nation. Indian’s dream after achieving Independence from the Britishers was to make India Self-dependent in every field and sector. With the passage of time New Development Projects came into existence like Bokaro and Bhilai Steel Plants, Bhakra Dam which proved to be a big changer at that time to boost the Indian Industry and Economy. Even though Indo – China War in 1962 and Indo- Pakistan War in 1965 and 1971 could not halt the development process of the country and Indian Army successfully paved way making East Pakistan to a new country naming Bangladesh. Due to the passing of time political power changed, Indian political leaders focused on the development of the country and paved way towards Green Revolution, White Revolution and Industrial Revolution. In Eighties the era of computers came with revolution in manufacturing of cars, a new company Maruti Udyog Limited was introduced with manufacturing of new cars and from then India has never looked back in the four-wheeler industry and two-wheelers industry, revolution in communication sector along with information and technology, science. Similarly in 1991 the Union Government paved way towards liberal economic policies, liberal industrial policies for importing of technology. Since 2014 India is progressing in every field especially may be in the roads Infrastructure, manufacturing of indigenous spare parts from Indian Industrial Units for imported equipments, defence weapons, manufacturing of latest medicines by pharmaceuticals companies. Even during the days of the pandemic the country had maximum buffer wheat stock which was distributed to the needy families and which is still on and has been extended for one more year. Indian’s successfully fought against Covid-19 by vaccinating themselves with the Indian manufactured vaccine. Indian Space Research organization (ISRO) the Space agency of India has successfully launched its space mission. Start- up India and Stand up India schemes is showing positive results. Similarly, the new Fast Train Vande Bharat is successfully performing and similarly coming up of New Airports in India, focus on agriculture sector, construction of new medical colleges and a mission towards making India self-sufficient in every field and sector are the clear indications that days are not so far when India will fulfill the dreams of every Indian of making India Vishwa Guru and “Make in India” concept will certainly yield positive results.
