Mahavir Enclave Roads to Be Rebuilt; MP Sanjeev Arora Inaugurates Work
Residents say: “MP Arora has opened Kuber’s treasure for us”

Ludhiana, May 1, 2025: Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora inaugurated the relaying of roads in Mahavir Enclave on Thursday.
Speaking at the occasion, Arora said there had been a persistent demand from colony residents to reconstruct roads that had deteriorated over time. He took up the matter with the Ludhiana Municipal Commissioner, and following his efforts, the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (MCL) allotted a tender for the project. The relaying work has now officially commenced. He stated that the roads are being rebuilt at an estimated cost of Rs.1.15 crore. To mark the occasion, laddoos were distributed. All necessary materials and machinery were present to initiate the work.
Local residents, office-bearers, and members of the Mahavir Enclave Welfare Society, including Jatinder Khangura, Munish Goyal, Ram Singla, Vinay Bhalla, and Gurdeep Singh Gill, attended the inauguration ceremony. Arora added that tiles would also be installed along the road to cover the kutcha sides.
Arora said MC officials will monitor the project on a regular basis and a Third party audit would also be held to ensure high standards of quality.
Responding to a demand to replace 10 faulty streetlights, Arora instructed MCL officials on the spot to replace them by the next day and update him. He also assured the residents that their other demands would be addressed in due course.
Arora further assured that a signboard bearing the name of the colony would soon be installed on Ferozepur Road. Regarding the replacement of old overhead wires and other power-related concerns, he said he would take up the matter with Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). However, he said that replacing overhead wires may take some time as it is a major task.
Addressing another request, Arora promised to get a small nearby bridge widened through the concerned department in the near future.
During his address, Arora shared a report of his three-year tenure, highlighting numerous development projects worth thousands of crores that have either been completed or are nearing completion. He emphasised that he has been working for public welfare even without seeking votes in return. “It’s up to the people’s conscience to decide. I have worked transparently, not just for a specific area or constituency but for all of Ludhiana and even Punjab,” he stated.
Gurdeep Singh Gill, speaking on behalf of the Mahavir Enclave Residents Society, thanked Arora for promptly addressing their major demands and assuring them of continued support. “You have opened Kuber’s treasure for us,” he said, pledging full support to Arora on behalf of the colony.
Arora is contesting as the AAP candidate in the upcoming Ludhiana (West) bypoll.
