Maharana Pratap’s life teaches self-respect, devotion to duty, and dedication to the motherland: HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan
Nilokheri, June 17, 2026: Despite a lifelong struggle against foreign invaders, the valiant Maharana Pratap undertook well-planned and systematic work in the fields of horticulture and water conservation during his reign. The Haryana government has paid a fitting tribute to this unparalleled warrior by naming the State Horticulture University after him. Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), expressed these views while addressing participants at the concluding session of the three-day 'Yuktdhara' training program.
At the beginning of the session, he, along with all participants and trainers, paid floral tributes to the portrait of Maharana Pratap.
HIRD Director Dr. Chauhan stated that on the occasion of Maharana Pratap Jayanti, we need to draw inspiration from his life. Referring to the Battle of Haldighati, he noted that even under adverse circumstances, Maharana Pratap never compromised on the values of self-respect, freedom, and national interest. His life teaches us lessons of struggle, courage, self-respect, devotion to duty, and dedication to the motherland.
Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan remarked that the 'Yuktdhara' portal is a powerful medium for the scientific and technical monitoring of development works in Gram Panchayats; it will enhance transparency in the implementation of schemes and help ensure the quality of development projects. He urged the participants to effectively utilize the knowledge gained during the training in their respective areas.
Program Coordinator Kamaldeep Sangwan stated that during the training, participants were provided with practical information regarding the 'Yuktdhara' portal and the GIS-based monitoring system. Anil Kumar from the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) noted that the effective use of modern technology and geospatial data plays a crucial role in the better implementation of rural development schemes.
Additional Block Program Officers and participants from various districts, including Sandeep Kumar, Wazir Singh, Saurabh Arora, and Mohit Sharma, were present on the occasion.
