Madoudi Jatan to be developed as Model Village for Economic Empowerment of Rural Households: DC Sachin Gupta

Rohtak, January 28, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta directed the concerned departments to prepare a comprehensive action plan to develop Madoudi Jatan as a Model Village with the objective of economically empowering villagers through diversification of livelihoods and adoption of allied agricultural activities.

Chairing a review meeting at the Mini Secretariat with officers of the Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Departments, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed department-wise data and instructed officials to motivate farmers to take up additional income-generating activities along with traditional agriculture so that farm incomes can be substantially enhanced.

He stressed that the Horticulture Department should actively encourage farmers to adopt fruit orchards such as guava and ber, along with vegetable cultivation and other horticultural crops that offer higher and more regular returns.

Directing the Animal Husbandry Department, the Deputy Commissioner called for intensive awareness on animal insurance schemes and subsidies available for setting up mini-dairies. Farmers were to be motivated to keep at least one milch animal per household, while veterinary health camps should be organised regularly. He noted that livestock-based activities provide stable income through the sale of milk and milk products.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed that a village-level awareness camp be organised on the coming Saturday, with the Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Kalanaur, asked to ensure wide publicity through local announcements so that maximum villagers can participate and obtain information about government schemes.

He further emphasised formation of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in the village so that farmers can operate at scale, strengthen their bargaining power and improve market access. Individual farmers were also to be encouraged to take up horticulture.

The Fisheries Department was directed to motivate villagers to adopt aquaculture by creating awareness about subsidies and facilities available under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.

Senior district officers present in the meeting included DSCO Dr. Neena Sehwag, DD Agriculture Dr. Surender Malik, District Fisheries Officer Asha Hooda, District Horticulture Officer Dr. Madan Lal, SDO (Animal Husbandry) Dr. Narendra Dahiya, BDPO Kalanaur Dharampal, SSO Anil Ahlawat, SDA0 Sandeep Singh, APOs Meghna, Jwala Singh, Vinod Kumar, Amit, Seema, Deepak Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Kamal and Sombir, along with other concerned officials.
