Lyallpur Khalsa College Physiotherapy Students Visit Pingalwara, Amritsar for Educational Exposure

Students of the Department of Physiotherapy, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, visited Bhagat Puran Singh Pingalwara, Manawala (Amritsar) as part of an educational tour organized by the department. The tour was flagged off by the Principal, Prof. Navdeep Kaur, who emphasized that such initiatives not only enhance students’ knowledge but also provide valuable practical experience.

Jalandhar, November 13, 2025: Students of the Department of Physiotherapy, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, visited Bhagat Puran Singh Pingalwara, Manawala (Amritsar) as part of an educational tour organized by the department. The tour was flagged off by the Principal, Prof. Navdeep Kaur, who emphasized that such initiatives not only enhance students’ knowledge but also provide valuable practical experience.
During the visit, the staff members of the Department of Physiotherapy expressed their gratitude to Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Director of Pingalwara, and Yogesh Kumar, Administrator, by presenting a memento and bouquet for giving students the opportunity to closely observe and understand this remarkable social institution.
Yogesh Kumar briefed the students about the history of Pingalwara and took them around various centers, explaining their functions in detail. The students also visited the museum dedicated to the life of Bhagat Puran Singh Ji and explored facilities such as the Artificial Limb Center, School for Special Children, Laboratory, and Rehabilitation Center. They were introduced to initiatives like free medicine distribution, sanitation drives, recycling units, and the bio-gas plant.
The visit deeply inspired the students, who interacted with residents and reflected on the spirit of service and dedication exemplified by Bhagat Puran Singh Ji. A total of 39 students from BPT Part III and IV participated in the tour, which was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Priyank Sharda, Dr. Anjali Ohja, Dr. Vishali Mahindru, and Dr. Alisha Kamboj.
