Jalandhar, November 26, 2025: A webinar on “IPR Basics for Innovators & Entrepreneurs” was organized by the IPR Cell of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar in collaboration with Institution's Innovation Council (IIC).
The objective of this program was to make students and researchers aware of the importance of Intellectual Property Rights.
The keynote speaker of this webinar was Dr. Abhay Jain, Professor, Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, Delhi.
At the beginning of the webinar, Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur welcomed the keynote speaker and said that such educational programs prove helpful in instilling creative thinking, technical acumen and legal awareness among the teachers and students.
In this webinar, Dr. Abhay Jain discussed in detail the role of Intellectual Property Rights in industrial and academic sectors. He provided important information to the faculty and students about patent, copyright, trademark, industrial design, geographical indication and IPR registration process. He also threw light on the benefits of IPR for startups and its role in protecting innovation and entrepreneurship.
At the end of the webinar, IPR Cell Nodal Officer, Dr. Navneet Arora thanked the keynote speaker for speaking on this important topic. He thanked the college management and the Principal for their support in making this program a success.
