Ludhiana, August 23, 2025: The Post Graduate Department of Biotechnology, Lyallpur Khalsa College, in collaboration with Microbiologists Society India (MBSI), celebrated Biotech Day with a vibrant Poster-Making Competition on the theme “Biotechnology.”
The event was graced by Principal Dr. Suman Chopra as the Chief Guest, who emphasized biotechnology’s immense potential in tackling global challenges such as health care, food security, climate change, and sustainable development. She also lauded the college for emerging as a leading institution in biotechnology education. Vice Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur also honoured the occasion with her presence.
Students from various departments showcased creative and insightful posters highlighting applications of biotechnology in agriculture, health care, genetic engineering, and environmental sustainability. The winners were: First Prize – Stephy Heer (B.Sc. Biotechnology, Sem-5); Second Prize – Jaspreet Kaur & Sukhpreet Kumari (B.Sc. Non-Medical, Sem-1); Third Prize – Anvi Banyal (B.Sc. Biotechnology, Sem-3) & Komalpreet Kaur (B.Sc. Biotechnology, Sem-1).
Winners were awarded mementos and certificates, while all participants received appreciation certificates. The program, led by Dr. Arun Dev Sharma (Head of Department) and his team, concluded on an inspiring note, motivating students to pursue biotechnology with dedication and enthusiasm.
