Jalandhar, November 11, 2023: Department of Physiotherapy and NSS Units of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandahr celebrated Diwali festival on the theme Swachh Diwali Shubh Diwali. 

During this event, Rangoli competition and tree plantation event were organized to give a message of Swacch Diwali. 
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, on this occasion said that to celebrate festivals in an eco-friendly way is the need of the hour to keep a check on environmental damages as well as to keep the youth connected with our rich legacy. As the air quality index indicates, it is high time to bring changes the way we celebrate this festival. 

Dr Raju Sharma, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy informed that it becomes very important to spread the message through youth as they are the ones who can bring change in the society at a fast pace. He suggested that green does not only mean to refrain from crackers but also stop wasting electricity and not to use plastic.  He added that a total of 12 teams comprising 02 members participated in the Green Diwali Rangoli Competition. 

In this event, first position was bagged by Gagan and Tanpreet 2nd position was won by Priya and Mandeep and Kundan was declared third. Later, tree plantation campaign was initiated by worthy Principal sir and staff. Moreover, students of Department of Physiotherapy & volunteers of NSS unit LKC participated in the activities enthusiastically in making Swachh Diwali Shubh Diwali a successful campaign. 

During this event, Dr. Jaswant Kaur, Dr. Priyank Sharda, Prof. Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Ranju Mahajan, Prof. Navneet Kaur, NSS Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh, Prof. Vaishali Mohindru, Prof. Harmeen, Prof. Anjali Ojha were also present.
