MDU, Akums Drugs Sign MoU to Boost Pharma Training, Research

Rohtak, September 29, 2026: Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) has signed a MoU with Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and create new training, internship and research opportunities for pharmacy students.
The MoU was signed in the presence of MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia. MDU Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal signed on behalf of the university, while Akums AGM (Human Resources) Sanjeev Singh and AGM (New Projects) Pooja Das signed for the company.
Prof. Punia said the partnership would provide students with practical industrial exposure alongside classroom learning and help strengthen their technical and employability skills.
Prof. Bansal termed the MoU significant for professional capacity building, while Dean (R&D) Prof. Harish Dureja and Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Randeep Singh Rana highlighted the university’s focus on research, skill development and industry-oriented education.
Akums AGM Pooja Das said the collaboration would connect students with industrial projects and professional training. Sanjeev Singh said the industry exposure would contribute to their career development.
Pharmaceutical Sciences Department Chairperson Prof. Deepak Kaushik said the MoU provides for industrial training and internships, joint research projects, access to research facilities for MDU PhD scholars at Akums, exchange programmes and career guidance sessions.
Other MDU officials and faculty members, including Additional Dean (R&D) Prof. Santosh Tiwari, IQAC Director Prof. B. Narasimhan were present.
