LPU’s three NCC students will parade at 75th Republic Day Celebrations in New Delhi

Three of the NCC students of Lovely Professional University (LPU) Navneet Singh, Aman Sharma and Abhishek Sharma of different professional programs are going to participate in the 75th National Republic Day (RD) celebrations-2024 in New Delhi. LPU students are adjudged among the best NCC cadets of the country after 100 days of camp training.

Jalandhar, January 23, 2024: Three of the NCC students of Lovely Professional University (LPU) Navneet Singh, Aman Sharma and Abhishek Sharma of different professional programs are going to participate in the 75th National Republic Day (RD) celebrations-2024 in New Delhi. LPU students are adjudged among the best NCC cadets of the country after 100 days of camp training.

 

Selected LPU students will salute the unfurled Tricolour, President of India Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the top international guest President of France Emmanuel Macron at Katavya Path on 26th January 2024 in New Delhi. 

 

The French President will be the Chief Guest at this year’s Republic Day Parade. A 95-member marching contingent and a 33-member band contingent from France will also take part in the parade.

 

In a first, the parade will be women-centric and heralded by 100 women artists with Indian musical instruments. Various States/UTs & Organisations tableaux are to display the country’s rich cultural diversity, unity & progress. More than one lakh viewers physically present on the scene and many crores across India and other countries will see them parading live on tele screens. 

 

LPU students will represent the nation with proudly high-held heads at the grand RD Parade celebrations. All of them belong to B Tech CSE Programmes, where Aman Sharma of 3rd year is ranked SUO; Abhishek also of 3rd year is UO; and, Navneet of 2nd year is Cpl.

 

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Government of India) has selected LPU students in the toughest competition from among lakhs of student volunteers who participated from across 5 zones of India. LPU students are selected keeping in view their overall performance for the parade, cultural activities, proficiency to participate in the debate on different social issues, and ability to depict the culture of their state. They will also be awarded prestigious testimonials by the President of India for their significant national role and participation.
