Chandigarh, May 26, 2015: The Punjab Education Department is all set to show the door to long absentee teachers and employees of education department in the month of June 2015, who have failed to join duties despite various reminders.
Disclosing this here today Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister said that he has taken a serious view of menace of long absentee teachers, who were blocking the posts of education department and creating hurdles in the smooth functioning of the department. He said that he has issued directions to all District Education Officers to submit list of long absentee teachers by 31st May 2015 and issued directions to education department to dismiss long absentee teachers within the month of June after due process. He said that erring DEOs failing to submit list would face departmental action.
