Education Minister Dhanda praises the artistic prowess of DLC SUPVA students
The third day of Students’ Showcase Exhibition at DLC SUPVA was graced by Education Minister, Haryana, Mahipal Dhanda along with Former Minister Manish Grover. The Minister makes his maiden visit to the campus to encourage the young artists who have displayed their best artistic works in this exhibition.

Rohtak, May 11, 2025: The third day of Students’ Showcase Exhibition at DLC SUPVA was graced by Education Minister, Haryana, Mahipal Dhanda along with Former Minister Manish Grover. The Minister makes his maiden visit to the campus to encourage the young artists who have displayed their best artistic works in this exhibition.
Accompanied by the Vice-Chancellor, DLC SUPVA, Prof Shree Prakash Singh, the Education Minister visited each stall and understood the nuances of the displayed craft. Impressed by the artistic prowess of the students, the Education Minister appreciated the skill, intent and professionalism of the students.
He said, “To my mind, this exhibition discreetly symbolizes the beauty and power of talent that this university has. To see such mature and polished artefacts developed by young artists is fascinating. I think the university is doing a fine job of not only imparting skill, but also the vision and sense of purpose to the students.”
The Minister also assured that the government will do its best to support the university administration and the students in their endeavour to achieve national and global recognition. “Haryana is a land of legendary artists like Dada Lakhmi Chand. Every student has the potential to shine and should work towards bringing a global name to this great state, just like Dada Lakhmi,” he added.
VC Prof Shree Prakash said, “I am confident that the Students’ Showcase will inspire our young artists to tap into their inner brilliance and bring forth pearls of creativity and excellence.” He also added that DLC SUPVA also has a history and culture of having annual art exhibitions for students where the student engages with multiple dimensions of art practice and reaches out to the art industry and society at large, contributing to building culture and the Nation.
18 winning students were given awards for their brilliant performances in the exhibition. Head, Faculty of Visual Arts Vinay Kumar presented a hand-made painting to the Education Minister, made by the second-year animation student- Rashi.
This year, more than 1000 artworks by over 300 students are on display. Important categories of the art displayed include applied arts campaigns based on awareness, social messaging, illustrations, advertisements, oil painting, acrylic painting, installation art, site specific arts, clay and fiber art sculptures, photography, sketching, clay modeling, and still life and miniature paintings, etc. Augmented reality and virtual reality-based paintings are also being showcased.
Former Minister Manish Grover also exhorted the students to focus on learning the craft and become independent artists. Registrar Dr Gunjan Malik expressed the vote of thanks.
