Rohtak, August 2, 2026: A live telecast of the 'Drug-Free Youth – Developed India Pledge Campaign' (Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan), launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was screened at the Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC-SUPVA).
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya, Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha, faculty members, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students were present on the occasion. Everyone welcomed the Prime Minister's announcement regarding the launch of this nationwide campaign with applause and pledged to play an active role in making it a success.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya stated that substance abuse is a scourge for individuals, society, and the nation; therefore, it is imperative to eradicate it. He expressed confidence that this nationwide initiative by the Prime Minister would yield positive results. The Vice-Chancellor noted that it is possible to overcome addiction even after one has fallen prey to it.
He further remarked that teachers bear the moral responsibility of protecting students from substance abuse, as students spend a significant portion of the most crucial period of their lives in the company of their mentors rather than with their families.
