Rohtak, August 2, 2026: A live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address was screened at MDU on Sunday as part of the 'Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India' pledge campaign. During the event, students, NSS and YRC volunteers, and NCC cadets took a collective pledge to build a drug-free India.
Presiding over the program, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia urged students to incorporate regular yoga, exercise, and at least one sport into their daily routines. He emphasized that maintaining physical health is just as essential as mental well-being in life.
The Vice-Chancellor stated that in this era of rising global competition, education, mindset, and innovation form the foundation of the future. Highlighting the crucial role of youth in achieving the goal of 'Viksit Bharat 2047' (Developed India 2047), he urges the students to stay away from drugs and to maintain mental alertness and determination.
The program was conducted by Dean of Student Welfare Prof. Sapna Garg, while YRC Coordinator Prof. Anju Dhiman proposed the vote of thanks. Dean Academic Affairs Prof. A.S. Maan, Proctor Prof. Randeep Rana, Director Sports Kultaj Singh, NSS Program Coordinator Prof. Savita Rathi, along with faculty members, students, NSS and YRC volunteers, and NCC cadets, were present at the event. Students enthusiastically participated in slogan-writing and poster-making competitions organized around the theme of 'Drug-Free Youth'.
