Talking to media during a press conference at Livasa Khanna on Monday, the doctors explained that low temperatures trigger blood vessel constriction, elevate blood pressure, increase blood viscosity, and raise clotting tendencies, significantly heightening the risk of strokes and heart attacks, particularly among vulnerable individuals. Simultaneously, dense fog and reduced visibility during winter months contribute to a surge in road traffic accidents, leading to serious injuries such as fractures, head trauma, and polytrauma, where timely, multidisciplinary emergency intervention can be lifesaving, doctors said.
