Hoshiarpur, November 07, 2025: Livasa Hospital, Hoshiarpur, has further strengthened its renal care services by introducing advanced treatment facilities for kidney and prostate diseases. During a press conference here on Friday, hospital’s experts discussed modern approaches to managing kidney-related ailments.
Dr. Shekhar Baweja consultant urologist highlighted the rising incidence of kidney stones and prostate problems in India. He explained that these conditions are increasingly common among people aged 25 to 60 years, largely due to lifestyle factors, low water intake, and dietary habits. India has seen a steady rise in kidney stone cases in the last decade.
Dr. Baweja also spoke about the hospital’s use of Thulium Fiber Laser technology, which provides a safer, faster, and minimally invasive treatment option for kidney stones and prostate enlargement.
Dr. Akash Sarkar consultant nephrologist discussed the growing burden of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and conditions like protein loss in urine. He shared that India has witnessed a significant rise in CKD cases, often linked to diabetes, hypertension, and late diagnosis. He emphasized the importance of early screening and lifestyle management.
