Lies on Missing Saroops Are Moral Collapse, Playing With Sikh Faith Is Unforgivable, Punjab Needs Truth Not Drama: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan

New Delhi, January 20, 2026: National BJP Leader, Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan said that he, on his own behalf and on behalf of Punjabis across the world, strongly condemns the Chief Minister of Punjab. Grewal said that Punjab today is suffering under a Chief Minister who treats truth as a joke and faith as a press note, which is unacceptable and dangerous for a sensitive border state like Punjab.

In a press statement here today, Grewal said that the Chief Minister publicly claimed at the Maghi Mela that 169 missing Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were traced near Banga, while the extremely grave case of 328 missing Saroops still remains unresolved. He said that such a statement was made openly before the Sikh Panth and under the moral authority of Akal Takht Sahib, which makes the matter even more serious. Playing with facts on an issue linked to the highest religious sentiments of Sikhs amounts to moral irresponsibility.

Grewal told that now the government has taken a shameless U-turn. The Finance Minister and the ruling party have called it a mere miscommunication and claimed that the records of Nabh Kanwal Raja Sahib are correct. Grewal questioned who then misled Punjab. Was it the Chief Minister speaking from a public stage? Was it the SIT Or was the Sikh community deliberately misled on an issue involving faith law and public harmony?

Grewal said that if this was an officer’s mistake then the people of Punjab want answers. Where is the action. Where is the suspension. Where is the accountability. He said that if no action follows then this cannot be brushed aside as miscommunication and must be seen as deliberate misleading of the Sikh community.

Grewal further said that this is not the first time the Chief Minister has misled the people. This is a clear pattern of lies. Claims of Goldy Brar being arrested turned out to be false. Claims of a BMW factory coming to Punjab were fake. Promises of thousands of jobs remained empty claims. Tall announcements about drugs being finished have been exposed by ground reality. Talk of industrial revolution exists only in speeches. Claims of solving the water crisis stand exposed as Punjab continues to dry. Claims of corruption free rule fall flat as even ministers face serious questions.

Grewal said that justice in the Bargari and Behbal killings has been deliberately delayed for years. Now fresh confusion has been created over the missing Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. He said this government is not serious about justice truth or faith and is only interested in headlines and publicity.

Grewal said that lying about governance reflects failure but lying about Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji reflects moral collapse. He asserted that words can also amount to Beadbi when used carelessly and deceitfully on sacred matters.

Grewal demanded that the Chief Minister of Punjab must issue a clear unconditional public apology to the Sikh community. He said faith is not a public relations tool and Guru Sahib is not a political script. Punjab does not need a performer or an entertainer as Chief Minister. Punjab needs a truthful accountable and responsible Chief Minister.
