Tarn Taran, October 25, 2025: In a major boost to the Aam Aadmi Party ahead of the Tarn Taran by-election, prominent leader Yadwinder Singh rejoined the Aam Aadmi Party, ending his brief stint (2 days) with the Congress. His return was warmly welcomed by AAP Punjab Working President Sherry Kalsi, who termed it a “homecoming of a committed and disciplined leader who always stood for the people’s cause.” On this occasion, AAP State General Secretary Dr. S. S. Ahluwalia was also present.

Welcoming Yadwinder Singh back into the party fold, Sherry Kalsi said, “Sometimes things look better from afar, but once inside, the reality becomes clear. After joining Congress, Yadwinder realised that it is a party with no vision or agenda for the people. Their leaders are only busy fighting among themselves, while the problems of Punjab remain unaddressed. That’s why he chose to come back to the Aam Aadmi Party, the only party truly working for the people.”

Kalsi added that Yadwinder Singh has always enjoyed respect and recognition within the AAP and that he will continue to receive his due place in the organization. “Yadwinder’s return strengthens our campaign in Tarn Taran. He will work actively on the ground with the AAP campaign teams to ensure a resounding victory for AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu,” said Kalsi.

Expressing his gratitude to the party leadership, Yadwinder Singh said, “I never felt at home in Congress. It’s not a party for the common people. The Aam Aadmi Party is where I truly belong, a party that believes in work, not words. I am happy and proud to be back home in AAP.”
