KMV’s Singular Achievement- Awarded 9 Vocational Training Courses by Government of India

Jalandhar, March 11, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous ) has established a new milestone  by being awarded with 9 new courses by National Skill Development Corporation, Government of India under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna 4.0 and Skill Hub Initiative. 

Throwing more light on it, Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that witnessing the unparalleled performance of the KMV in vocational training and its robust infrastructure, the institution has been awarded with these new skill oriented and job oriented courses. These courses cater to the needs of Media and Entertainment, Retail, Banking & Finance, Healthcare, Beauty and Wellness, Textile Design and Apparel Technology, Tourism and Hospitality, IT-ITeS and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science sectors. She further maintained that KMV will receive a grant of 31 lacs for the same to cover the training cost. 

It is pertinent to mention that the DDU Kaushal Kendra of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya works in collaboration with industry where students are trained as per the latest requirements and syllabi are designed as per the need of the hour. These skill based courses are valid internationally and the students trained under DDU Kaushal Kendra are doing exceptionally well in their sectors. The students here get training under ‘Earn While Learn’ mode where they get industrial exposure and also earn while they are studying only. Through its Skill Development Centre KMV is successfully running 8 B.Voc and 3 M.Voc courses successfully since 2015 and is the first college under Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar to be awarded with the Skill Development Centre by Government of India. Moreover, in the year 2022, Skill Hub was awarded to KMV under which two courses namely Self-Employed Tailor and Assistant Beauty therapist were successfully completed during the year with 100% result.
