KMV’s Academic Council Applauds Progressive, NEP-Aligned Educational Initiatives

Jalandhar, August 8, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) convened its 11th Academic Council meeting under the chairpersonship of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. The meeting brought together a distinguished panel of academic experts and institutional leaders, including:

In her opening address, Prof. (Dr.) Dwivedi highlighted KMV’s unwavering commitment to academic innovation and excellence, with special emphasis on the institution’s effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. She underscored how KMV is creating a globally benchmarked, research-driven, and innovation-oriented academic environment.

With a legacy of over a century, KMV continues to lead as a pioneer in women’s education and remains a beacon of academic empowerment in North India. The Academic Council members wholeheartedly lauded the dynamic academic growth of the institution under its autonomous status.

The members extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Dwivedi on the successful establishment of the KMV Technical Campus, hailing it as a landmark achievement in the institution’s ongoing journey of expansion and educational leadership.

Council members also praised the college’s wide range of academic programs, which now include:

24 undergraduate programs

26 postgraduate programs

2 undergraduate diplomas

3 postgraduate diplomas

22 certificate courses

The launch of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs was especially applauded. Similarly, the introduction of NCC as an elective course for BA/B.Sc. students and the commencement of M.Sc. (Physics) with Artificial Intelligence were recognised as forward-thinking initiatives in sync with modern academic and industry demands.

Suggestions were also made to introduce new certificate courses in Film and Theatre Studies and Paramedical Sciences, further expanding KMV’s diverse academic portfolio.

In her concluding remarks, Prof. (Dr.) Dwivedi expressed heartfelt gratitude to all members of the Academic Council for their continued support, valuable insights, and dedication to advancing KMV’s mission of academic excellence and national leadership in higher education.
