KMVites Promote Healthy Lifestyle through Week-Long National Sports Day Celebrations
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a week-long celebration to mark National Sports Day, promoting fitness, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among students.

Jalandhar, August 29, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a week-long celebration to mark National Sports Day, promoting fitness, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among students.
The festivities began with a friendly volleyball match played with great enthusiasm, showcasing excellent skills and team spirit. The atmosphere was further charged with a Rope Skipping Challenge, where participants displayed their endurance and strength.
Adding thrill to the celebrations, the Tug of War competition emerged as a crowd favourite, highlighting the power of unity and camaraderie. A 100-metre race kept the audience engaged as students tested their speed and stamina. To encourage traditional Indian sports, students also performed yoga asanas and played Kabaddi, drawing attention to indigenous games.
As part of the Fit India Movement, KMV students also took a pledge to adopt and promote a healthier lifestyle, focusing on both physical and mental well-being.
Expressing her delight, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi said, “Sports are not just about competition; they teach us discipline, resilience, and teamwork. Through events like these, we aim to instil a lifelong commitment to fitness and a spirit of unity among our students.” She added that the celebrations not only gave participants a platform to showcase their skills but also reminded everyone of the crucial role sports play in maintaining balance and well-being.
Dr. Davinder, Head, Department of Physical Education, was appreciated for successfully organising the week-long celebrations.
