KMVites imparted job readiness training by top multinational companies

Jalandhar, November 2, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) is the pioneer institution of women education, has long been recognised as a premier centre of higher learning for women in North India. KMV is committed to preserve the rich cultural legacy and traditional values along with modernity conducive to the holistic development of an individual’s potential. 

As per KMV’s mission to make the students employable, KMV’s Placement Cell initiated  Job Readiness Programme in collaboration with RUBICON - BARCLAYS Life Skill Training and NAANDI Foundation – Mahindra Pride. This specialised program is one of its kind in this part of the region is of utmost benefit for the students of KMV students aimed to make the students ready for upcoming Placements Drives in the campus. This special program was conducted for one week in four batches per day with two Industry trainers – One from Rubicon and One from Mahindra Pride group. More than 200 students were trained during this program. The students were trained on various modules like – Organisational Structure, Public Speaking, Presentation Skills, Group Discussion, Personal Interview etc., that are required in the corporate working environments. The students learnt about the implementation of SWOT analysis on the basis of different parameters which includes confidence, career development, maintenance of physical and mental health in the work area etc. The trainers not only trained the students on how to set the realistic goals and how to achieve those, but also demonstrated valuable inputs for presentation skills such as excluding materialistic to make  the presentations  impressive by adding images, charts, diagrams, headings etc. The trainers covered different modules that included Resume’ writing, telephone etiquettes, email etiquettes, corporate jargons & group discussions etc. in various sessions. Various activities were conducted by the trainers in order to make the sessions more interactive and interesting. The students also learnt about ABCD formula of Interview- Appearance, Body Language, Communication and Delivery, along with Do’s and Don’t’s while appearing for interviews. The session on stress management was also held in which the trainer aware everyone as to how to deal with the stress and anxiety at the time of Interview. The trainers helped the students with frequently asked questions, they also acquainted the students with the basic requirements of group discussion. Another session on “Why Formals are required and Importance of Smart Work over Hard Work” was very informative. In the last session, Mock Interviews were taken up by making an Interview Panel to boost the confidence of the students as they learnt many tips and techniques that would prove to be beneficial for them in their future endeavours. 

Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that these kind of programs are a regular feature at KMV as we always strive to impart practical skills to the students so that the students can excel in this competitive world. Principal lauded the efforts of Dean Placement Cell,  Suman Khurana for providing this wonderful opportunity to the students and also motivated the students to learn every aspect of the program diligently.
