Jalandhar, September 21, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a field visit at Curo Mall, Jalandhar. The visit was organized by the P.G. Department of Retail Management under the Centre of Excellence (CoE), Sector Skill Council, Government of India, for the students of the Certificate Course – Retail Sales Executive.
During the visit, students explored reputed retail brands such as Zudio and Pantaloons, where they observed and learned about key functional areas of modern retailing, including customer handling, visual merchandising, point-of-sale (POS) operations, customer assistance and service, as well as various other in-store processes.
The primary objective of this field visit was to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practices. By engaging directly with functioning retail spaces, students were able to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, gaining insights into the professionalism. It also helped students to develop a deeper understanding of current retail trends, consumer behavior and store management techniques.
Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the initiative of the P.G. Department of Retail Management for taking such proactive steps in enhancing students’ industry exposure. She emphasized the importance of such practical learning platforms in shaping skilled and industry ready professionals.
