Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a one-day educational visit to Eastwood Village for the students of M.Voc. and B.Voc. (Retail Management) along with learners of the Certificate Course – Retail Sales Executive under Skill India. The visit was arranged by the P.G. Department of Retail Management under the Centre of Excellence supported by the Government of India. The initiative aimed to provide experiential learning by exposing students to real retail environments and operational systems.

Jalandhar, March 29, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a one-day educational visit to Eastwood Village for the students of M.Voc. and B.Voc. (Retail Management) along with learners of the Certificate Course – Retail Sales Executive under Skill India. The visit was arranged by the P.G. Department of Retail Management under the Centre of Excellence supported by the Government of India. The initiative aimed to provide experiential learning by exposing students to real retail environments and operational systems.
During the visit, students explored various retail outlets and closely observed customer handling techniques, visual merchandising strategies, point-of-sale operations, and supply chain management processes. They also learned how product development concepts are implemented in real-time retail settings to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The experience helped students understand store layout planning, product positioning, inventory management, promotional strategies, and customer engagement methods in a practical context.
The visit offered valuable insights into how coordination among different retail functions ensures smooth store operations and enhances sales performance. Congratulating the participants, Director Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the efforts of the department in providing industry exposure. She also acknowledged the contributions of Head of Department Rashmi Sharma and Course Mentor Chetna Nayyar for successfully organising the visit and guiding students toward developing strong industry-oriented competencies under DDU Kaushal Kendra.
