Jalandhar, October 18, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) Department of Hospitality and Tourism organised an educational Destination Visit to Agra and Delhi for its students. The visit aimed to provide students with experiential learning opportunities and enhance their understanding of tourism resources, heritage conservation, destination management, and visitor experiences.
During the visit, students explored some of India’s most prominent cultural, historical, architectural, and religious attractions. In Agra, they visited the iconic Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its magnificent Mughal architecture and historical significance. The visit helped students appreciate the importance of heritage tourism and the conservation of historical monuments. In Delhi, the students explored the Lotus Temple, renowned for its distinctive lotus-shaped architecture and message of universal peace; Qutub Minar, an outstanding example of Indo-Islamic architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site; and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, a significant Sikh religious destination known for its spiritual importance, hospitality, and tradition of community service.                       The destination visit provided students with first-hand exposure to diverse tourism resources, including architectural heritage, religious tourism, cultural attractions, and visitor experiences. An integral component of the activity was Report Writing, which encouraged students to document their observations, analyse the tourism potential of the destinations, and develop their academic writing and field-reporting skills.
Director Prof Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that this initiative bridged theoretical classroom learning with practical exposure while fostering observation, critical thinking, teamwork, and professional competence. The educational visit proved to be a valuable learning experience, deepening students’ appreciation of India’s rich cultural and historical heritage as the initiative reflected KMV’s commitment to experiential learning and the holistic development of students pursuing careers in tourism, travel, hospitality, and destination management. Director lauded the efforts of Dr Sunil for successfully organising the visit.
