KMV students excel in UNICEF Internship on Responsible E-Waste Disposal

Jalandhar, February 18, 2026: Students of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) have achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing a UNICEF-driven internship focused on E-Waste Awareness. This initiative was designed to sensitise communities, particularly young learners, about the growing challenges of electronic waste and the necessity of sustainable disposal practices.
Among the participants, Gyan Kaur from M. Com. (FYIP) Semester VI earned special distinction by being selected as the Project Head for the entire state of Punjab. In this leadership capacity, she spearheaded a five-member team, managing project operations, collaborating with various stakeholders, and overseeing awareness workshops to ensure seamless campaign execution and data collection.
Accompanied by fellow students Simarpreet Kaur and Shreya, the team contributed meaningfully to spreading responsible e-waste management practices across the region. Their efforts helped raise awareness and promote sustainable disposal habits among communities.
Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Director, applauded their achievements, noting that such experiential learning opportunities are vital for nurturing socially responsible and innovative leaders. This accomplishment further reinforces KMV’s commitment to empowering students as effective change-makers in society.
