KMV students complete internship with District Administration

Jalandhar, December 17, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous), a premier institution of higher learning, once again proved its commitment to professional excellence as two students from the Post Graduate Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, namely Niharika and Shranaya Sharma, successfully completed a prestigious internship with the District Bureau of Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training (DBEGS), Jalandhar.

The students were awarded Letters of Recommendation personally signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar, Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal. The commendations highlight their "brilliant work," "dedication," and "exceptional contribution" to the department’s public outreach and documentation efforts. During the internship, the students were deeply involved in managing communication between the department and the public regarding various government welfare schemes, drafting reports, social media updates, and press releases regarding job fairs and skill development workshops, and assisting in the recording and cataloging of successful placement stories.

The Deputy Commissioner, in his recommendation, lauded the students for their professional ethics and their ability to handle complex communication tasks under pressure. He noted that their fresh perspective as journalism students added significant value to the Bureau’s mission of bridging the gap between job seekers and opportunities.

Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students on this significant milestone. She remarked, "At KMV, we prioritise hands-on experience and industry integration. Seeing our journalism students receive such high praise from the highest administrative office in the district is a testament to the quality of training provided by our faculty. Such exposure prepares them to be the fearless and skilled media professionals of tomorrow." She further maintained that KMV continues to be a hub for practical learning, equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and a curriculum that mandates field internships to ensure students are "industry-ready" upon graduation.
