KMV students and faculty awarded Hungarian State Scholarships

Jalandhar: Throwing valuable light on international programs, Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that it is a great matter of pride that students as well as faculty members of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (KMV) have been granted Bilateral State Scholarships for Summer University Courses. Four students of M.A. (Psychology) namely Jagriti Nagpal, Pranavcheet Kaur, Amandeep Kaur and Shreya Dogra along with one Faculty Member named Dr. Sharanjit Kaur have been granted this Scholarship to attend Summer Course. The duration of these courses will be 4 weeks and the courses will start in the month of July, 2021. Based on the financial support of the Hungarian Government, Tempus Public Foundation offers scholarships for foreign higher education students, graduates and professionals who would like to gain further knowledge in Hungarian summer university courses. It is a matter of great honour that  the scholarship will include participation in the courses free of charge as well as a stipend consisting of a supplement, an accommodation and meals. Our students, Jagriti, Pranancheet, Amandeep and Shreya have been granted scholarship to attend a course  of “Hungarian for Foreigners” in the University of Szeged, Szeged. Ms Agnes Bata, Faculty Coordinator for International Affairs is the person in-charge of the course. Dr. Sharanjit Kaur has been granted scholarship to attend a Four-Week course of “Summer University of Hungarian Language and Culture” in the Eotvos Lorand University. Ms Ágnes Vámosi, Department Officer, Department of Hungarian as a Foreign Language is the person in-charge of the course. Prof. Dwivedi further maintained that we foster global competencies in our students through various collaborations, academic tie-ups and student exchange with many prestigious US, European and Canadian Universities and colleges. We also have international partnerships with Chatham University, USA and over the years the students have availed from many beneficial programs. The faculty from Boston University regularly interacts with our students. The visits of Prof. John Battaglino, Dean, Student Welfare, Boston University have been to the ample credit of KMV. Our students had also been selected to attend Summer Internship Programs at Boston University. Regarding the collaboration with Eotvos Lorand University, Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that it was in 2019 when she was invited by Eotvos Lorand University, Hungary where she signed an MOU which is a monumental international education partnership between two globally acclaimed institutions. Under this partnership, KMVites will attend a semester at Eotvos Lorand University during the Masters Program. Recently Dr Robert Urban from the Institute of Psychology Eotvos Lorand University, Hungary was invited to KMV as a resource person under this exchange program and Dr Urban has been taking online classes also during the time of pandemic for the betterment of the students. In the year 2020 KMV also organised an International Conclave in which acclaimed and erudite scholars from all over the world addressed KMVites and also gave their valuable opinions on the current global education scenario. Yet another remarkable collaborative achievement is KMV's MOU with College of the Rockies, Cranbrook Campus, Canada. It is by dint of these international programs that KMVites have frequently visited universities like Harvard University and even got admission in various acclaimed US Universities. Many KMVites have got admission in foreign universities like Boston University,USA all because of the global exposure gained by them through the exceptional international programs run by KMV.
