KMV Sensitises Students Towards Community Engagement

Jalandhar, September 11, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a sensitisation programme for Semester V students to acquaint them with the objectives and significance of the Community Outreach Programme.
The faculty members sensitised the students about the importance of community engagement and its role in developing social responsibility, empathy, leadership and a deeper understanding of societal concerns. Students were also apprised of the various community-based projects they could undertake in areas such as women empowerment, literacy, health awareness, environmental sustainability, cleanliness and social awareness. As part of the programme, every student is required to complete 60 hours of community activities. The students were encouraged to select projects that address genuine community needs and create a meaningful social impact.
Dr. Madhumeet, Dean Student Welfare and Dr. Monica Sharma, Dean Social Outreach addressed the students and motivated them to actively participate in the programme and use the opportunity to connect academic learning with real-life social challenges.
Dr. Anushobha and Dr. Iqbal, Coordinators of the programme guided the students regarding the planning and execution of their community projects and encouraged them to undertake innovative and sustainable initiatives.
Director Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi wished the students success and urged them to approach the programme with commitment, sensitivity and a strong sense of social responsibility.
