KMV sensitises students on Equality and Inclusiveness in Special Awareness Event

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized an Awareness Programme on Social Equality and Social Justice with the objective of sensitizing students towards the values of equality, fairness, and respect for all individuals irrespective of caste, creed, gender, religion, or socio-economic background.

Jalandhar, June 3, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized an Awareness Programme on Social Equality and Social Justice with the objective of sensitizing students towards the values of equality, fairness, and respect for all individuals irrespective of caste, creed, gender, religion, or socio-economic background. 
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge and wisdom over ignorance. Director Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, warmly welcomed Pramod Kumar and Ramesh. In her welcome address, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude for their gracious presence and valuable contribution to the programme. She emphasized the significance of social equality and social justice in building a progressive society and highlighted the role of educational institutions in instilling these values among students. She also appreciated the efforts of both guests in promoting social harmony and inspiring the younger generation to work towards a more inclusive, equitable, and compassionate society. Addressing the gathering, Shri Pramod Kumar emphasized the importance of social equality and social justice in building a strong, united, and progressive nation. He stated that every individual deserves equal respect, opportunities, and rights irrespective of caste, religion, gender, language, or economic background. Stressing that all human beings are equal, he urged students to respect one another and uphold the dignity of every individual. Drawing inspiration from Indian history and culture, he cited many examples who worked tirelessly for the welfare of society and promoted values of justice and inclusiveness. He also referred to the teachings of Kabir Das, whose messages of unity, equality, and brotherhood continue to inspire society even today. He highlighted that social harmony can be achieved only when society rises above discrimination and works collectively for the welfare of all. He also encouraged students to cultivate empathy, compassion, mutual respect and inclusiveness in their daily lives. Students were also encouraged to become responsible citizens and contribute towards creating an inclusive and discrimination-free society. The event successfully instilled among students the values of empathy, tolerance and mutual respect. 
Prof. Dwivedi applauded the dedicated efforts of Dr. Madhumeet (Dean, Department of Student Welfare) for successfully organizing the programme and creating awareness among students about the importance of social equality and social justice. She appreciated the commitment of all the staff members towards nurturing socially responsible and value-oriented citizens.
