KMV organizes an industrial visit to Verka Milk Plant

Jalandhar, May 24, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) always make consistent efforts to enhance the practical skills and knowledge of the students. In continuation with this practice, KMV's Department of Biotechnology organized an industrial visit to Verka Milk Plant, Jalandhar.
The objective of the visit was to give industrial exposure to the students. Students were given practical exposure through visit to different divisions where manufacturing and packaging process was going on. The students got first hand information about how an industry works as the place was fully equipped with modern fluid milk plant facilities. The state of the art technologies in milk drying was also available in this plant which is manufacturing ghee, butter, curd, kheer, lassi & cheese in different sections. They also visited boiler section, refrigeration section and HTST (Hot Temperature for Short Time) treatment section etc. along with latest processes utilized for milk treatment.
Director Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such activities help the students to acquire important information with interest and they also return to their classroom with full zeal and enthusiasm after an energetic break. She lauded the efforts of the faculty of Biotechnology Dept. for having organized such a fruitful industrial visit.
